Emballator begins district heating deliveries in collaboration with Hjo Energi
Emballator’s new Sales and Marketing Manager in Växjö describes the company as structured, passionate and warmly welcoming—a modern operation with deep roots. With long experience from AstraZeneca and Viking Beds, she now focuses on building a strong new team and supporting key customers.
The project enables Emballator Tectubes to supply surplus heat from its production processes to Hjo Energi. The excess heat comes from the VOC treatment equipment.
Jonas Strålman, Production Manager at Emballator Tectubes, explains:
“Our VOC treatment equipment reaches temperatures of around 1,000 degrees Celsius, which is needed to burn off and clean the organic substances in the lacquer we use. Previously, the remaining heat simply passed out through our ventilation system.”
By installing a recycling battery connected to the treatment system, this heat can now be captured and transferred to Hjo Energi’s district heating network—a smart and relatively simple solution that benefits the whole community.
“Our need to purchase district heating in the future will be halved by supplying Hjo Energi with around 500,000 kWh each year. For Hjo Energi, our production becomes a welcome addition that reduces their need for fuel. The project is a great example of developing solutions that are environmentally, socially and economically sustainable.”
