Emballator Mellerud Achieves ISCC+ Certification
Emballator Mellerud has now received its ISCC+ certification and can offer products made from mass‑balanced plastic. This shift to certified material helps us significantly reduce CO₂e emissions compared with using virgin plastic.
What is ISCC+?
ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) is an independent, multi‑stakeholder system that supports sustainable, traceable and deforestation‑free supply chains. ISCC+ is an extension of this system, focusing on environmental, social and economic sustainability within industries such as packaging.
For us, the certification is a way to confirm that our materials and processes meet strict requirements for responsible and sustainable production—supporting our long‑term ambition to create packaging for future generations.
What ISCC+ means in practice
Promoting a circular economy
By using recycled and bio‑based raw materials, we lower our carbon footprint and support a more circular way of working. The certified feedstock comes from residual products such as forestry waste, agricultural by‑products and vegetable oils, all introduced early in the raw‑material production process through the mass‑balance method.
Ensuring traceability
ISCC+ gives us the tools to trace the origin and handling of our raw materials. This strengthens transparency and allows customers to follow the journey from source to finished packaging.
Enabling sustainable supply chains
The certification reinforces our commitment to working closely with suppliers who share our sustainability ambitions. Together, we focus on responsible material choices and production methods throughout the entire value chain.
