From global goals to everyday action – how Emballator works with the SDGs

In 2015, the world’s leaders agreed on a shared roadmap for the future: the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These 17 goals are designed to tackle some of the most pressing challenges of our time – from poverty and inequality to climate change and responsible resource use. For Emballator, the SDGs are not just a global framework. They are a practical guide for how we develop our business, our products and our way of working.

What are the SDGs – and why do they matter?

The SDGs set a common direction for governments, businesses and organisations worldwide. Their ambition is clear: to create a more sustainable, fair and resilient society by 2030.

For companies like Emballator, they help translate big, global challenges into concrete actions. Rather than trying to address all 17 goals at once, the focus is on where we can make the most meaningful difference – within packaging, material use, production and the way we work together.
Turning goals into concrete targets

At Emballator, selected SDGs have been broken down into internal targets for 2030. These targets reflect both our responsibilities and where we see the greatest opportunity to contribute.

Goal 5: Gender equality

A balanced and inclusive workplace is essential for long-term value.

Emballator works towards:

  • A minimum of 30% women in leading positions

This is about building diverse teams and ensuring that leadership reflects a broader range of perspectives.

Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth

A sustainable business starts with a healthy working environment.

Our focus includes:

  • Keeping sick leave at a maximum of 4.5%

This target supports a workplace where people can perform, develop and stay well over time.

Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production

As a packaging company, material choices and product design are at the core of our impact.

Emballator is working towards:

  • At least 30% recycled plastic in our product portfolio
  • 100% recyclable products
  • Prohibition of conflict minerals
  • 100% of virgin metal sourced from approved smelters

These targets reflect a clear direction: to use resources more responsibly and ensure transparency across the value chain.

Goal 13: Climate action

Reducing climate impact is a long-term commitment that requires continuous improvement.

Our ambitions include:

  • Climate neutrality by 2045
  • A halved climate footprint per revenue compared to 2021
  • Net-zero climate footprint in Scope 1 and Scope 2
  • Climate neutrality in transports that Emballator is responsible for

Together, these steps support a gradual but determined transition towards lower emissions.

A practical approach to sustainability

Working with the SDGs is not about broad statements. It is about setting clear priorities and making measurable progress over time.At Emballator, sustainability is closely linked to everyday decisions – from how materials are sourced, to how products are designed, produced and delivered. By breaking down global goals into concrete targets, it becomes easier to follow up, learn and improve.

Moving forward together

The SDGs provide a shared language for sustainability. They also create opportunities for collaboration – with customers, partners and across the value chain.

For Emballator, the journey continues towards 2030 and beyond. Step by step, with a focus on practical solutions, reliable materials and long-term thinking.
