Meet Mirko Belkin – Developing Smarter Production at Emballator Metalpak Oy
With a strong interest in problem‑solving and a commitment to continuous improvement, Mirko Belkin plays an important role in developing production processes at Emballator Metalpak Oy in Finland. As a Development Engineer, his work ranges from day‑to‑day machine maintenance to practical upgrades that make production more stable and work easier for his colleagues.
“The best part of my job is improving things to make production more efficient and making work easier for the workers whenever possible,” Mirko says.
A career shaped by experience and curiosity
Mirko’s journey began in Germany, continued through Sweden, and eventually brought him to Finland, where he now lives with his family in the countryside of Sibbo. With decades of experience in the can industry, he combines solid technical knowledge with a collaborative and solution‑oriented approach.
One achievement he is particularly proud of is transforming an old manual cutting table into an automated system using parts from a print shop. The result freed up operators and supported a smoother production flow.
Motivated by learning – both old and new
Continuous learning is a natural part of Mirko’s work. He enjoys experimenting with new ideas, repairing equipment in his garage, and exploring ways to fine‑tune production processes. Restoring a 1969 Mustang remains one of his long‑term dreams. His colleagues often turn to him for help with practical issues — though he jokes that he is still working on perfecting his Finnish.
Collaboration across borders
What Mirko values most at Emballator is the freedom to make decisions and the strong support he receives from colleagues, both locally and across borders. With a new factory on the horizon, he sees many opportunities ahead and looks forward to contributing to the next steps in Emballator’s development.
