Renewable Energy Supporting Sustainable Progress at Emballator
At Emballator, renewable energy plays an important role in our sustainability work. Our operations use several energy sources, including LPG, natural gas, electricity, district heating and district cooling. While energy accounts for less than 3% of our total climate footprint, transitioning to climate‑neutral sources is essential to meeting our long‑term goals.
Our renewable energy ambitions
Climate‑neutral Scope 1 by 2030
LPG is currently needed for printing on tinplate and aluminium, and no alternative is available today. As soon as climate‑neutral options become viable, we plan to make the transition.
Climate‑neutral Scope 2 by 2030
In Sweden and at Europack in Finland, we already purchase electricity from climate‑neutral sources through certificates. This is not yet in place in France, Metalpack in Finland or the UK.
Improving efficiency across our operations
To reach these goals, we continue to optimise our production processes and invest in more energy‑efficient machinery. These improvements help reduce our overall energy use and, in turn, our climate footprint.
By focusing on measurable reductions and responsible energy choices, Emballator aims to contribute to a more sustainable packaging industry and support a climate‑smarter future.
