Emballator Lagan introduces new global pallet-labelling standard
Greater accuracy and better traceability are the main goals behind Emballator Lagan’s new pallet‑labelling standard.
“This will result in increased traceability throughout the entire chain, for the benefit of our customers and our own operations,” says Richard Johansson, Sales and Marketing Manager at Emballator Lagan.
The new marking equipment is already in use at the logistics department. After palletising, each pallet is labelled on two sides—at the exact same height—and once on the top. This makes scanning simple and reliable, no matter how the pallet is placed during storage or transport.
Following international standards
Both the labels and their placement follow the GS1 standard for automatic scanning.
“It enables better accuracy in our deliveries and improves traceability throughout the chain. We chose the GS1 standard because it is well‑established in Europe and widely used globally. Of course, we have also considered the requests of our customers,” Richard adds.
A long-term, sustainable step
The investment also supports increased automation in Emballator Lagan’s production.
“By building on the GS1 standard, we introduce a clear business language that both people and systems can understand. Our flows become more efficient, and we contribute to a well-functioning global goods chain.”
In the long run, this strengthens sustainability as well.
“Deliveries that reach our customers safely, without delays or damage, help reduce carbon emissions and support both economic and environmental sustainability.”
