Meet Nellie – reflections from her internship at Emballator
Nellie Ton, who studies International Management at Jönköping University, has spent the autumn interning with us at Emballator in Ulricehamn. She has been a fantastic addition to the team, and we were curious to hear what she is taking away from her time here.
A warm welcome and a supportive culture
When asked to summarise her internship, Nellie quickly highlighted the open atmosphere and the sense of belonging she felt from the start.
“I’ve had a great internship period and have learned a lot. What I will especially take with me are the relationships I’ve built during my time at Emballator. I have felt welcome and included from day one, and the commute has been worth it, even though it’s taken about four hours in total each day. It feels like everyone knows what it’s like to be new at work, so it hasn’t been difficult to ask the ‘silly’ questions—you actually feel like people think it’s a good thing,” says Nellie.
Sustainability at the core
Early in her placement, Nellie noticed how naturally sustainability is woven into daily work at Emballator—something she found both important and inspiring.
“It’s been a really enjoyable time to intern at a company where sustainability is included in everything you do. I believe it’s crucial that it stays an integrated part of the business going forward, to remain a natural choice for both customers and employees.”
Discovering the joy of analysis
During her internship, Nellie spent much of her time working on different analyses—an area she has come to appreciate even more.
“I’ve discovered how much fun it is to work with different types of analysis. It’s exciting to work with data, compare components and do research to see how the bigger picture becomes clearer. Having the chance to work on these aspects in a real project has taught me a lot, and I can definitely see myself working with analysis in the future.”
Encouraging others to take the step
Finally, we asked Nellie what she would say to other students considering an internship with us.
“I would definitely recommend interning at Emballator. Everyone has been helpful and supportive. My tasks have been enjoyable and have helped me grow. I truly feel that what I’ve done has been put to good use.”
We couldn’t agree more. Thank you, Nellie, for your hard work and positive energy. We wish you the best of luck with the rest of your studies.
