Meet Pontus Lia – keeping production flowing in Ulricehamn
At Emballator’s can department in Ulricehamn, Pontus Lia plays an important role in keeping production running smoothly. As a flow technician, he is part of the technical backbone of the site—supporting colleagues, ensuring high quality and driving improvements across the department.
Pontus’s workdays vary widely. Some days he is hands‑on in production, helping to solve technical issues as they appear. Other days he works in the office on improvement initiatives or deviation management.
“Being a flow technician at Emballator means that I am part of the technical backbone of the can department. I am responsible for ensuring that production runs smoothly and that the quality is maintained at the highest level,” says Pontus.
Pontus has built his career at Emballator step by step. He began as a summer worker, continued on night shifts for five years, and now holds a key technical position. His interest in technology—and his drive to make things better—has been central to his journey.
One achievement he is particularly proud of is developing a digital module for improvement work that integrates with the company’s deviation system. The shift from paper to a structured digital tool has made communication and follow‑up much easier for the whole team.
“I truly love the variety in my work. Being a flow technician means that no day is like the other, and that’s what makes it exciting. I enjoy being part of continuous improvements and seeing concrete results of our efforts,” Pontus says.
Outside work, Pontus describes himself as a “regular guy” with a range of interests. He enjoys exploring food and wine with his girlfriend, and he dreams of one day building his own house. Music is a big part of his life—especially the harder genres—and he has an unexpected talent for trying out different dialects and languages.
Pontus’s advice to others is simple: don’t hesitate to ask for help, and remember the value of working together as a team to reach shared goals.
