Meet Robin Hallqvist – Product Manager Driving Development at Emballator Lagan

Robin Hallqvist is Product Manager for our bucket range at Emballator Lagan. He plays a key role in developing new products, materials and colours, and is involved in a wide range of product‑related projects.

Robin joined Emballator Lagan in 2015 and has seen his responsibilities grow steadily. When he started, the product manager role didn’t even exist. A year ago, he stepped into the position and has shaped it since. What he enjoys most is influencing the product range and starting new projects—whether sparked by his own ideas or inspired by a competitor’s product that Emballator can improve and adapt.

Shaping new solutions

One of the most exciting projects Robin has worked on is Plastic handle for Emsafe, where steel handles are replaced with plastic. The project has required new tools, machines and robots, making it both technically challenging and rewarding.

Robin sees analytical skills and engagement as essential for the role. He is also keen to deepen his knowledge in PCR (post‑consumer recycled) plastics, an area that is evolving quickly.

A strong focus on customers and long‑term development

One value Robin strongly identifies with is Customer focus. For him, the most rewarding part of working at Emballator is that he continues to learn and develop, even after nearly ten years. He feels optimistic about the future—especially if Emballator keeps progressing in areas such as PCR, monomaterials and innovations that reduce environmental impact.

Life outside work

Robin lives in a villa outside Ljungby with his wife—who also works at Emballator—and their son, with another child on the way. He has a background in the energy programme and has studied geology and drilling. Professionally, he has worked as a travelling fitter, HVAC technician and in drilling before joining ELAB.

In his free time, Robin enjoys spending time with his family, following Formula 1 and playing golf.
