More renewable energy for the Herenco Group

As part of the Herenco Group, we at Emballator are proud to share that we will soon be connected to one of northern Sweden’s largest solar parks. Located in Björke outside Gävle, the new facility is expected to generate around 7 GWh of electricity each year—roughly the annual consumption of 1,400 households. Once operational, the park will cover more than ten percent of Herenco’s total electricity use.

This investment is an important step in Herenco’s long‑term work to reduce environmental impact and increase the share of renewable energy across the group—something we at Emballator value highly and are pleased to contribute to.

The solar park has been built on land previously used as a gravel quarry, which means no agricultural or natural land has been repurposed. As a result, the establishment has not had a negative impact on local biodiversity, an important consideration in any new development.

At Emballator, we look forward to the park’s commissioning and to being part of a more climate‑friendly energy supply for the future. Taking part in the Herenco Group’s sustainability efforts is something we are genuinely proud of. Together, we continue working towards positive change and a more sustainable society.
