Reducing Time to Market at the Emballator Innovation Center

At Emballator, we design and develop packaging solutions for future generations. A key part of that work is reducing Time to Market—making it easier for both new and existing customers to test ideas, explore options and move quickly from concept to finished solution.

Brendon Vermillion, Innovation Designer at the Emballator Innovation Center, supports brand owners in visualising their ideas and turning them into packaging that creates real value.

“To launch new products, we need to know what we want and define the path that takes us there. Sometimes that also means letting go of solutions that aren’t quite good enough,” says Brendon.

From idea to prototype

At the Innovation Center, prototypes of up to four litres can be 3D‑printed in various materials. This makes it fast and easy to evaluate shapes, functions and new design directions.

“Our process focuses on identifying opportunities for innovation and creating value—even in product categories that may otherwise feel familiar,” says Brendon.

Material knowledge that speeds up development

To shorten lead times, the team tests a wide range of material grades in advance. Thermal, mechanical and chemical properties are evaluated continuously, ensuring the best possible match for each packaging’s purpose.

“Our material library enables us to offer the most suitable material for each product,” Brendon adds.

With this combination of design support, prototyping and material testing, customers gain a clearer path from idea to market-ready packaging.
