UN‑certified packaging for the safe transport of hazardous goods
At Emballator, we offer a broad range of UN‑certified packaging designed to ensure the safe transport of hazardous goods across road, rail, sea and air. UN certification sets global requirements for packaging performance, and each approved design must withstand both everyday handling and more extreme conditions.
Hazardous goods are divided into nine classes based on the level of risk. Packaging is then grouped into three categories: the most dangerous goods, dangerous goods and less dangerous goods. Each group requires specific tests — including drop, pressure, leak and stacking tests — to confirm safety during transport.
Working beyond today’s requirements
“At Emballator, we do not settle for merely meeting today’s standards. By working closely with leading testing and certification organisations through continuous product development and user testing programmes, we strive to meet future needs as well,” says Åsa Lindberg Svensson, Product Manager at Emballator Metal Group in Ulricehamn.
This long‑term approach helps ensure our packaging solutions not only meet current UN rules but are also prepared for the demands ahead.
Quality and sustainability at the core
We are certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, reflecting our strong commitment to quality management and environmental responsibility. Through ongoing monitoring and goal‑setting, we work to improve product performance and reduce environmental impact in practical, measurable ways.
A closer look at Duraline™
“One of our flagship products is the Duraline™ series, which offers a flexible design with several lid options. The conical shape of the Duraline™ pails saves storage space by allowing empty pails to be nested inside one another. This increases the number of units per pallet and helps optimise logistics and inventory management for both us and our customers,” Åsa explains.
Continuous testing ensures reliable performance
Regular internal evaluations, external testing and independent audits all help maintain the quality and consistency of our UN‑approved packaging. This combination of rigorous testing and close collaboration with expert partners ensures safe, reliable solutions our customers can trust.
