Welcoming Hagaviksskolan students to Emballator in Växjö
Emballator recently welcomed students from Hagaviksskolan to our Växjö facility. The visit was part of Växjö municipality’s SKAL collaboration, which helps young people discover the many career paths within the local manufacturing industry.
The students, all in Year 8 and studying the Nature and Technology (NoT) track, spent the day learning about how we work and how packaging is made. Their curiosity was clear, and they asked thoughtful questions — especially about the plastic materials used for different products and how choices are made.
Hands-on Learning and Classroom Projects
To build on the visit, the students were given three tasks to work on back at school within Sales, Development and Production Planning. Working in groups, they will develop practical proposals in their chosen area. This might be anything from creating a simple commercial to designing an idea for a future product, to be presented later in the term.
“It is fantastic to see the students’ engagement and curiosity. Many wanted to know what different roles at Emballator involve, and several asked about summer jobs. We hope this experience encourages more young people to explore opportunities in our industry,” says Helena from Emballator.
Continuing the Collaboration
In December, we visited Hagaviksskolan again to watch the students present their project work. The collaboration continues this spring, when we will introduce various professional roles within the company and give the students practical advice on writing their first CV — helpful preparation for upcoming summer job applications.
Emballator looks forward to continuing this rewarding partnership and helping spark interest in manufacturing among young people in Växjö.
